GOD did not save you- only to hand you a "TO DO" list.

When God tugs on your heart- and suddenly it hits you to take the next step- to declare yourself to Him. To dedicate yourself and be cleansed (being saved) He doesn't expect you to suddenly start doing things for Him. He wants to build a relationship with you, a friendship, and a partnership.

We all have a purpose; God puts something on our hearts to glorify His name in an astounding and magnificent way. Some are led to be Pastoral leaders, some prophetic, some led to teach, others led to serve, and others still led to model God's love explicitly.

It's when you take that "leap of faith" to be saved- and HOW CAN YOU not feel the need to do everything and anything to "PROVE" to God you deserve His love? It's hard not to want to "do the work" to prove you are worthy. After all, we live in a society where your worth is determined by what YOU bring to the table right? By what you do. It's a terrifying concept to think you may mess up again, after all- society points the finger when you do something wrong right? Immediately forgetting anything you had previously done correct.

But here is the reality- God knows you- He knows you will stumble- but He is also right beside you for He will hold you up with His hand. (Psalms 37:23-24)

As sinners, and those who have been through different traumas in their life- it is a hard concept indeed- That God really only wants YOU. He knocked, till you answered- (Revelation 3:20) He did not expect anything from you. He knows your heart, and what you have been through.

You do not need to DO anything. God will instruct you when the time is right- (Psalms 32:8) God loves you and cherishes you just for being you and coming to Him when He called. Giving everything to Him- all of your burdens is a magnificent and wonderful concept. In a society ruled by self-gratification and control- You are trusting in the one who has your back. He just wants you to REST in His arms for a little while- The flight or fight concept forgotten. Instead embracing His love, grace, joy, and freedom. He broke your chains, don't hold onto them to try and prove your worth. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. (Mathew 11: 28-30)

YES- YOU will have a purpose- you will have things to do to bring glory to God's name- to potentially plant a seed that will flourish and grow by the will of the Holy Spirit-and in turn save countless people. But, God does not hand you a to do list as soon as you receive Him into your heart and point His finger at you in expectation. You are precious to Him. (Deuteronomy 14:2) Come rest, come to know Him- the one who WILL fill your soul.
